Nikolo who took over as Srilanka’s  head coach in June.Last year suffered a major setback when Srilanka lost their home and away World Cup foot ball qualifiers against minnows Bhutan in March.

However it is not dear whether Kavazovic was sacked following the recent poor performance or whether he has resigned from his post considering his family commitments.
