Former Sri Lanka captain, Kumar Sangakkara cracked another sterling hundred (111), as Surrey replying to Northamptonshire’s first innings of 309 all out, were 437 for 5 at tea on day four of their Division 2 four-day county championship clash at Northampton on Thursday.
Veteran southpaw Sangakkara, who has enjoyed a stellar run of form with the bat in 2015, held the Surrey innings together as he shared a splendid 170-run fifth wicket stand with number six batsman JJ Roy, who remained unbeaten on 134 at the time this edition went to press.
During his innings, the world’s number one ranked Test batsman faced 186 balls having struck 11 fours before nicking one behind to Adam Rossington off pacer Steven Crook.
