Sri Lanka women’s skipper Chamari Atapattu will play in the third ODI at R.Premadasa International Stadium today. Match will commence at 10.00 a.m.
She had been ruled out of the first and second ODIs against West Indies women on 13 and 15 May when she injured her right hand during a gym session. Vice-Captain Eshani Lokusuriya took over as captain for the first two Odis Coach Jeevantha Kulathunga sayed that Atapattu has recovered now. “We tried to include her in the team for the second ODI but doctors advised her not to play. Other than Atapattu the same team will be playing in today’s match, but we have yet to see who will be left out.”
Sri Lanka won the second ODI with huge support from the former skipper Shashikala Siriwardena with an excellent spell of 4/30 and an unbeaten 42.
If Sri Lanka wins the series with a 2-1 victory, hosts would climb two places to join England on seven points.
