When contacted the president of the Referee’s Association- ASP Nizam Jamaldeen said” Even I have received information that above incident took place in Pallekelle in the Trinity-Science rugby match and I’m awaiting the final report from the on field referee Carder, to be forward to the schools rugby association to conduct a formal inquiry about it for the final outcome”.

“As the head of referees I am liable for the safety of all my referees and providing security to the referees are a total responsibility of the host school authorities, hence will have a immediate emergency meeting to decide whether we are going to referee any more Trinity College games that they are hosting in future” concluded Jamaldeen. – WAI
