New Sri Lanka record with Coory
Marathoner Anuradha Indrajith Cooray continues to tumble records as he set a new Sri Lanka record in the half marathon (1 hour, 4 minutes 45 seconds) at the Hackney half marathon held in London yesterday where he finished in third place.
This was just two weeks after his record breaking performance at the London Marathon where he set a new Sri Lanka record of 2:13.47 erasing SLB Rosa’s record which stood for 40 years from 1975.
Cooray based in London has also qualified for his third Olympics in 2016 (Rio Olympics). He has already represented Sri Lanka in the 2004 and 2012 Olympics. He will also compete at the IAAF World championship to be held in Beijing China in August this year.
