What a match! India were dominant right from the beginning and it never looked like Pakistan were threatening enough in the game. Virat Kohli roared back into form with a brilliant century — his 22nd in ODI cricket — and one would feel that Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina were unfortunate to not get the big ones today. Apart from the batsmen coming back in form, it was really good from India’s perspective to have their bowlers doing what is required of them.
India maintain their domination as the scoreline against Pakistan is 6-0 now. Pakistan have to look into their approach as they were never confident with the bat. Here’s Nishad Pai Vaidya’sfinal report of the match from the Adelaide Oval of this India vs Pakistan clash.
Misbah-ul-Haq: The pitch was good, but India played well. Our bowlers came well in the end. 300 was gettable if you batted 50 overs. We have to look forward, can’t focus on this game and not look forward. Have to try and win the next one to get momentum back.
MS Dhoni: I think it was very good performance started by the batsmen. Important to give bowlers of extra 20 runs. Partnership was important as bating over here not easy at it has a invariable pace. Long partnership with Shikhar and virat was crucial. Then Raina consolidated with Virat, which was crucial. 8-10 day break was important. Plus we have had people who have come all the way from India for the match, it all helps as it has helped us in the field. Didn’t like to be over-expressive on the field.
