MCA Cricket Academy is celebrating its 14th Anniversary

The MCA Cricket Academy is celebrating its 14th Anniversary this year.

The Academy was inaugurated in 2002 by Chris Obeysekere, who was MCA President at the time.

As a part of the anniversary celebrations, as done for the past decade, the MCA Cricket Development Committee, headed by Nalin Wickramasinghe and the Tournament Committee, headed by Sujeewa de Silva will conduct the 11th Inter Academy U-13 & U-15 30-Over League Tournaments, which got underway last Friday (20th August)

24, Academies will participate in the tournament, 12 teams in the U-13 & 12 teams in the U-15.

The Under – 13 Groupings

Group “A” : CCC (2015 Winner), MCA “Red”, SSC, Asoka de Silva, JAST & SNCA.

Group “B” : Ragama (2015 runners –up), MCA “Blue”, Panadura, RSACA, NCC & HRCA.

The Under- 15 Groupings:

Group “A” : MCA “Blue” (2015 winner), Sanath Jayasuriya, Kirindiwela, Panadura, SSC & RSACA.

Group “B” : Asoka de Silva (2015 runners-up), MCA “Red”, CCC, NCC, Colts & Mighty CA.

At the completion of the legue round –robin stage, the first two tams of each group will advance to the Semi Finals. The league stage (consisting 30 matches in each age group) will go on till 24th August ; the Semi Finals on 26th August and the two Finals on 28th August at the MCA grounds.
