At the conclusion of the first round games in Division 1 under 20 schools rugby league, two schools from Colombo, namely Isipathana College and Royal College Colombo, remain unbeaten while heading their respective groups.

Up in Pallekele at Trinity College home grounds, unbeaten Royalists ended the unbeaten run of Trinity College by edging them out in their inter school traditional rugby encounter (first leg of the Bradby Shield) by 23 points (1 Goal, 2 Tries and 2 Penalties) to 22 points (2 Goal, 1 Try and 1 Penalty).
