Sanogeeth – sparkling 55 not out…..

Run getting prodigy Sanogeeth Shanmugathan smashed a brilliant 55 not out with six sixes and four boundaries off 18 balls to guide Trinity College to an easy 10 wicket win over Kingswood College in their schools under 17 Division One Cricket tournament match played at the Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy yesterday. The match was over before the luncheon break.

The Kingswoodians winning the toss and electing to bat first fared disastrously losing their first seven wickets for 27 before they made a recovery of sorts to total 55 in 23.5 overs.

Left arm medium pacer Rashmitha Dilshan took 5 for 25.

The target of 56 in 50 overs was not enough for the solid left hand opening bat Sanogeeth Shanmuganathan who batted in cavalier fashion to reach the target in 5.5 overs and to finish off with a six.

Kingswood College – 55 all out in 23.5 overs (Dilum Wijenarayana 16, Harith Rajaratne 16, Rasmitha Dilshan 5 for 25, Anishka Senadeera 2 for 11).

Trinity College 61 for no loss in 5.5 overs (Sanogeeth Shanmuganathan 55 not out).
