Olympic Sports Club football champs

Olympic Sports Club, Maruthamunai bagged the Late Marhoom M.I.M. Abdul Sameem Memorial Trophy when they beat Young Star Sports Club Eravur 1-0 in the tournament final played at the Santhankeni United Public Play Grounds, Kalmunai recently.

The chief guest Kalmunai Municipality Mayor and Senior Attorney Nizam Kariyapper while the guest of honour was Sri Lanka Foot ball Federation President Anura De Silva. This foot ball tournament was conducted by the Ampara District Foot Ball Federation and Sunny Mount Sports Club, Kalmunai while twelve teams from Eastern Province took part. Special awards were presented to the best teams and best players.

Final match was held under the patronage of Ampara District Foot Ball Association President and Kalmunai Municipal Councilor, Senior Attorney A.M.Rakeeb.
