Gihan guides Cops to victory

Sri Lanka Police Sports Club secured the Western Province inter-club open seven-a-side rugby championship when they beat Havelocks Sports Club ‘Bambaras’ 29-12 in the final match played at the Police Park yesterday. The Cops scored two goals and three tries after having led 17-7 at half time, while Havelocks ‘Bambaras’ managed to score only a goal and a try.

Centre Gihan Silva scored two tries while fly half Riza Rafaideen, scrum half Hashan Gomes and centre Iroshan Silva scored a try each for Police SC, while Kevin Dixon and Nishon Perera shared one try each for Havelocks ‘Bambaras
