WPRFU annual Rugby 7’s tournament on Saturday

The Western Province Rugby Football Union (WPRFU) will be hosting their annual rugby 7’s tournament on Saturday (August 20) at Police Park grounds. The tournament is sponsored by South Asia Gateway Terminals (SAGT).

All rugby teams from all around the Western Province are due to take part in this tournament under three categories with top club teams from ‘A’ division battling it out in segment one and ‘B’ division teams in segment two.

For the first time in WPRFU Sevens tournament history there will also be participation of women’s teams and Developing teams segment in which the upcoming teams will compete against each other. The tournament will start around 8 am onwards with teams like CR & FC, three armed forces Air Force, Army, Navy along with Police, Havelock SC and newcomers Old Mudalians, Gampaha RFC, Panadura SC and Kalutara RFC due to participate in this tournament
